Spellers - Racehorse Agistment

On arrival each horse is let down before going to the paddock by overnighting in a box and then moving to a small paddock for several days before being allowed the run of a large paddock. This also serves as a quarantine period and for observation. Safety and health are paramount. All horses are fed twice a day rugged and inspected at feed time. Nothing is more frustrating for a trainer than to receive a horseback from the spelling paddock in great condition, only to find the horses feed are in no condition to be shod and worked at the level needed. We have a farrier attend the property weekly.

We understand the needs of owners who are keen to know how their horses is progressing so monthly condition report is provided.

Permanent Agistment - mares and foals
All mares and foals are fed and inspected twice daily. All pregnant & nursing mares are supplementary fed.

Foaling Season
Conveniently located only 90 minutes from the major studs around Victoria, mares are 'walked on’ and returned with a minimum of fuss using the farm's own transport.

Dry Mares
Also inspected twice daily. Attention to detail is guaranteed. If you want your mare placed under lights before the season starts, just ask.

Sales Preperation
Sales preparation is a specialty with an emphasis on exercise (horse walker), education (hand walking) and feed (individual diets for every horse). Our experienced team can prepare your horse be it weanling, yearling or older horse for any of the major sales around.
